About

All our rivers, freshwater lakes & ponds around the world are in trouble!!

At JMS Biotech, a team of experienced professionals in wastewater treatment and rejuvenating polluted water bodies, have developed a revolutionary product – JMS Floating GardensTM – designed to help maintain clean and healthy waters.

The Floating Garden serves as a model for constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment, helping preserve water quality. We offer innovative solutions for restoring polluted water to its natural, clear, and clean state. Our constructed wetlands effectively remove pollutants from lakes, rivers, and ponds.

Our solutions include Effluent treatment plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, Grey Water Treatment Plants, Leachate Ponds, and all types of wastewater solutions available across all cities in India.

What is the necessity to clean water?

Many cites will face acute drinking water shortage in the coming years with reduction in water availability in the potable water mainly due to variation in precipitation levels, Excess Urbanization, Inability to harvest rainwater, Improper treatment of waste water, Landscape Changes, Contamination through surface runoff…..

All this and many more leading towards extinction of a term called Healthy Water, and as humans we have this social responsibility to save water and save our planet in this process…leaving better footprints for tomorrow.

Technology

HOW DO JMS FLOATING GARDENS ™ WORK?

JMS Floating Gardens TM have been widely adopted for treating various kinds of polluted water. Nutrients and potentially toxic metal(s)/element(s) are taken up from the wastewater by plants through their roots whereas organic matter is degraded by the microorganisms forming biofilms on the roots and mat surface.

Additionally, organic contaminants which are already taken up by the plants are degraded by endophytic bacteria in plants.

Not only do the plants take up nutrients and contaminants themselves, the plant roots and floating Gardens provide extensive surface area for microbes to grow—forming a slimy layer or biofilm.

The biofilm is where the majority of nutrient uptake and degradation occurs in an Floating Garden system, with up to 80 per cent by the microbe community.

JMS Floating Gardens ™ rely on natural processes to biologically filter water as it passes through shallow areas of dense aquatic vegetation and permeable bottom soils.

The primary mechanisms for nutrient removal are transformation and uptake by microbes and plants, assimilation and absorption into organic and inorganic sediments, and conversion into gas.

As Floating Gardens do not require additional earthworks or land uptake, they can also offer increased pollution removal performance at a substantially lower cost compared to alternatives such as constructed wetlands.

Purpose

So Where To Use? The Shorter Answer Is Everywhere.

Floating Gardens are essentially a tiny ecosystem created on top of a buoyant surface enabling them to float around a pond or lake, soaking up nutrients and converting them to oxygen. These little floating gardens can be managed easily and the dead plant matter can easily be trimmed off – avoiding the creation of more biomass in the waterway – and keep the plants younger.
These attractive Floating Gardens can find its application in a variety of places by not only helping in improving the quality of water, but also making the place look green and clean.

LAKES, RIVERS AND PONDS

Inlets of waterbodies carrying contaminated water, Sedimentation Basins, Inside the lakes

SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS, GREY WATER TREATMENT PLANTS, LEACHATE PONDS

Enhancing/Upgradation of existing STPs – Lagoons, Stabilization ponds, polishing ponds, Aeration tanks etc

STORM WATER DRAINS

Drains/Nullahas carrying sewage

Impact

How Do We Know Floating Gardens Work?

The importance of Trees/plants is all known to us. We are all dependent on vegetation for providing us a safe environment by reducing the impact of ever increasing pollution all over this planet. Plants have been used to clean water in many technologies presently used across the world.

JMS Biotech has been extensively working on improving water quality with Floating Gardens and a combination of other interventions in various fields ranging from Polluted Rivers, Lakes, Storm Water Drains, Nullahs, STPs, ETPs,etc. We have been able to successfully improve the quality of water in all our projects by means of Phytoremediation. As the nutrients in the water are taken up, the results can be seen in the growth of the plants.

There have been various researches and studies conducted across many countries, where it is discovered that these plants grown on water can be effective at removing nitrogen, phosphorus, ammonia, pharmaceutical traces, herbicides and other toxic elements from freshwater bodies—which proves significant when we consider the increasing number of those elements that are entering our freshwater systems.
